AKISAN Denver Chapter Donates Money and Volunteer Hours to the R.O.C.K (Refugee Outreach Clothing Kids) Initiative

On Sunday March 29th, 2017 AKISAN Denver Chapter partnered with the Denver Health Foundation via the R.O.C.K (Refugee Outreach Clothing Kids) initiative to assisted over 300 refugee kids that had been re-settled in the Denver, Colorado area. For the past several years more than 75,000 refugees have settled in the U.S. Many of them arrive from Burma, Syria, Congo, Nepal, Afghanistan, Somalia, Eritrea, Iraq, Ukraine and Ethopia after experiencing unspeakable hardships on their long journey to U.S.

AKISAN Denver Chapter donated cash and volunteer hours and each kid went home with:

  • 1 Back Pack
  • 1 Pair of Jeans Pants (Trousers)
  • 1 Pair of Crocs (Rubber Shoes)
  • 1 T-shirt
  • 1 Hygiene Pack (Hand Sanitizer, etc.)
  • 1 Toiletries Pack (Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, etc.)
  • 1 Pair of Gloves
  • 1 Set of Underwear (3 per Packet)
  • 1 Set of Socks (6 per Packet) and 1 Book
